A Few Words from Amy...
Before we meet for a session, there are a few things for you to know to make the session as effective as possible:

As an owner, you can set your horse up for an amazing experience by providing an environment conducive to relaxation:

1
Horses actively seek to be in a balance in their mind and bodies. Masterson Method is not your typical type of equine bodywork, it is based on active participation from the horse. We rely on their responses to our touch to guide us on where and how to proceed and in order to help them release accumulated stress, tension and restriction in their bodies and nervous system.
2
Please be on time, having your horse and surroundings ready. MM bodywork works best on cold muscles. If your appointment is late in the day and your horse needs to be worked, please allow at least 2 hours between work and the session.
Kindly ensure your horse is lightly groomed by removing any dirt or mud; this allows me to provide the most precise palpation and assessment of their needs possible.
After a session, the horse should be hand walked for at least 20 minutes or preferably turned out and given the following day off from work. This allows the body time to integrate any changes from the session.
And finally...
3
If your horse is anxious when away from friends please have one or two nearby; Their friends can also benefit! That being said, please avoid scheduling around feeding or high traffic times to allow for continued relaxation.
Your horse will be most ready if they have had time to eat and relax for a while where the session will take place, though removing all food from the area before we begin helps eliminate distractions. Access to water is encouraged throughout the session.
A leather or nylon halter is preferred.
Please provide a clean level area to work in. This can be a stall, arena, or a paddock with some shade.
Please try to avoid scheduling on the same day as other equine professionals such as vet, farrier or dentist.
Any questions? Please ask!
